Who's Serving Thanksgiving in 2020?

Each November my inbox is swamped with the same question: Which restaurants serve a traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day? Last week, I made a hundred phone calls to find the answers, which I serve below.

Joining my 14th annual Thanksgiving list are the Costa Kitchen & Bar at Mar Monte Hotel, Scarlett Begonia, and Uncorked Wine Tasting & Kitchen. Restaurants that usually offer Thanksgiving but are skipping this year include Banquet Room at Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Bella Vista at the Biltmore, Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn, Brewhouse, The Buffet at Chumash Casino Resort, Chandelier Ballroom at Rosewood Miramar Beach, Frog Bar & Grill at Glenn Annie Golf Course, Moby Dick, and Wine Cask.

The space previously occupied by Plow & Angel at San Ysidro Ranch has been taken over by neighboring Stonehouse restaurant which will be fulfilling Thanksgiving duties for both eateries. The Montecito resort has not yet decided if it will bring back the Plow & Angel brand. Blackbird at Hotel Californian, which made the list last year, is now a cocktail bar and no longer serving Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving restaurants that closed in the last year include Aly's Restaurant in Solvang, Due Lune, Root 246 in Solvang, and Treehouse Restaurant at Best Western Plus Pepper Tree Inn.

Make your reservations early because many places will sell out; some are booked out three months in advance. And the competition isn't just from your immediate neighbors: Based on the analytics of who is reading my online posting of this list, it appears that slightly more than half of the people exploring the idea of a Santa Barbara Thanksgiving feast are from outside of the county.
