Dried scones
Reviewer: CaliGirlForever from Santa Barbara, CA
Everyone raves about this spot and I usually do too. My family has a tradition of getting their scones for special occasions and get togethers. This review is purely commenting that the last few times we had their scones, they were a bit dried out and not as moist and buttery as previous times. Maybe it is a good thing because it means they are being baked with less butter or something. Other items are delicious here and staff and ambiance are fun. It's a local place and it is still one of our favorites.

Excellent bakery and lunch menu.

Great service. Very friendly staff and the food was delivered hot and fresh to our table. Bakery goods were excellent. We will return next time we are in the city.

Always my Favorite Spot for Breakfast!
Reviewer: Dawn from Santa Barbara, CA
I am a regular at Jeannine's for breakfast. I really enjoy the lox and eggs. Whenever I have friends visiting from out of town I take them to Jeannine's and they always love it! Whenever strangers are visiting SB and they are looking for a great dining experience, I send them to Jeannine's as well. Whether I eat alone or with guests, the staff is great, the coffee is tasty and the food is delicious! And they never have a problem with special orders either. I also really enjoy their gluten free baked goodies too!

Great brunch Menu
Reviewer: Ross from Santa Barbara, CA
Jane, oh Jane, you know you're not to write a negative review until AFTER your experience :) I mean, oh nevermind. Maybe they mix large batches for several cakes instead of individual ones, or something like that. I recently had a Sunday brunch salmon leek scramble thingy with little potato pieces mixed in and a light creamy sawce and it was soooooooooooooo good!

CAke Orders
Reviewer: Jane Fogg from Santa Barbara, CA
I have been trying to Order a rectangle lemon cake with no poppy seeds in the frosting. The clerk tells me its really difficult to get them to make the cake in the first place and that she is not flexable. Then she tells me its really difficult to mix match the types of cakes with their frostings. That is will be an additional 10 dollar charge for not adding poppy seeds. I don't care. I just wanted the cake. Yesterday, I left my number just so they could call me just once to let me know if they could make it. Not a call, I drove my again today, no luck, the clerk can not tell me whether they can even make the cake. She'll call me tomorrow.... Hello, lost two days already to order a cake. How hard can that be. The service for ordering cakes is less than desirable. Thanks Jeannine, Unsatisfied Cake Lover

Good food, a bit pricey, but cake order handled rudely
Reviewer: Jennifer from Santa Barbara, CA
The food and servers at the Upper State location have always been great. Yes, it is a little expensive which we haven't minded since the staff are considerate too. But there is an incredibly rude and unhelpful person answering the phone for cake orders. Jeanines just lost our business after many years of doing all of our family birthday cakes. We'll give our birthday cake business to Renaud's after that phone experience.

Wonderful lunch and Cappuccino!
Reviewer: Scott from San Anselmo, Ca
We stopped here for lunch on the way out of town and were very happy with the entire experience. The deli sandwiches were delicious, the service friendly and the ambiance inviting and fun (great family photos!). I cannot say enough about the Cappuccino we had.......a veritable work of art (I even snapped a photo of it to reminisce occasionally!). This was our first and only visit, but I would drive out of my way to go back!

This place is a gem, nice and clean and the pastries are out of this world! Went to SB on vacation with my sisters, stayed at the Lemon Tree Hotel and asked them of a good small coffee shop, they lead us to this fabulous place, food is great! Will return when in town!

A bit pricey but doable.

Nice variety on the menu, nice people and good service. I eat there a couple of times a month but would more often if I could find a table inside. Through no fault of the restaurant it seems to b e a place where the ladies like to meet their friends, which is ok of course. However many spend so much at one of their limited tables that some customers are turned away. It's like the third or forth cup of of whatever they are drinking and gossip galore

Good quality food...
Reviewer: Jessa from Santa Barbara, CA
My husband and I checked out Jeannine's for a Sunday morning breakfast. We had always heard it was good, but never gone. The minute our plates hit our table, we knew it was going to be delicious. I was hoping it would be - the prices are a bit higher than the other breakfast places in town. I ordered a California omlette and fruit instead of potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my fruit was not the standard mix of fruit out of a container. The cheese in my omlette was also higher quality - no plastic orange stuff here. I would say this is tops I'd pay for a breakfast, especially with such meager portions, but you can taste the quality.

Good food, Nice people
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
This place has really good food. A bit pricey but worth it. The people are really nice there. Definitely check out the bathroom which has some funny old advertisements on the wall! They have various desserts there, I was talked into trying some day old wedding type cake as a "deal" which basically tasted like day old wedding cake! Seating in and out. Jeanine's has a number on this site you can call for take out orders for the three locations. Parking is sometimes tricky/hard here but go off hours(open late for lunch) for better parking.
