One bartender ruins it all.
Reviewer: Foodie Dan from Santa Barbara, CA
I've taken my family here for decades. Tonight I went to watch the playoffs. The rude bartender and cold food was a huge disappointment. The male bartender was intrusive and commented on private coversations. I ordered the enchiladas and rellano. They were cold. I attempted to complain but was shut down by the bartender. " it is what it is" ugh.

always busy

The turkey dip with salad and fries or soup if you ask is along time favorite. Turkey patty with 2 eggs, potatoes & cornbread. Also pancakes big and fluffy are always a good choice. They do need to come back more with coffee and weekends are very busy and loud with the bar!

Nothing like Cody's
Reviewer: Charlotte from Goleta
Came for breakfast for the first time today and I was thrilled to find that it was nothing like Cody's. The corned beef hash and poached eggs were delicious, the hash browns were crispy, the biscuits were light as a feather, and the Bloody Mary was perfect! Service was expedient and friendly. Nice atmosphere and music, clean, and all around a nice place. I'll be back!

Cold food, cold service.
Reviewer: Al from Santa Barbara, CA
The service was very poor and did not make us feel welcome. After sitting the drinks came fast but our food took long, when we got our food it was cold. I was told that this place was the same as Cody's cafe in goleta but is far from being that. Will not be going back to Mesa cafe will stick to Cody's.

My granddaughter in SB was eager to take us to this favorite eatery of the locals. Although the place was very busy, our party of five was served in about 15 min. Four of us had omelets which were delicious. There was a choice of hash browns or cottage fries, choice of cornbread, biscuit or muffin. All of this was only $9 and was very filling. The other family member had a specialty burger which he enjoyed. Looking forward to going back on my next visit to SB!

Just left your restaurant and it's a safe bet I will not be returning for a long, long time! Two of the four rolls were burnt. I even left a piece on the table. There was NO butter served! And after waiting there for about 5 minutes, with absolutely no attention, I just got up and left! I was there Monday10/22/12 at about 7:15 PM

Really can't beat TMC
Reviewer: Chuck from Santa Barbara, CA
TMC has always been a favorite spot for me Mainly for breakfast. They do a good job but I have to remember the good old days when they gave you jars of jam instead of the dry packaged.jellies they have now. PLus I wish they still kept the newspapers laying around. I always looked forward to reading when I went there.

Fab choice all in!

Visiting from Vegas, holiday wkd, sat pm dinner with a 4 yo at 7 pm. Sounds like a disaster? We thought so. But happy to be proven wrong. Fast polite warm service, great food and reasonable cost. So happy we stumbled onto this place, we will return and recommend to others!

Great Place for Family and Friends
Reviewer: Lee from Santa Barbara, CA
As a long-time resident of Santa Barbara, I consider the Mesa Cafe part of the lifestyle here. A great place to meet with friends, take the family, or just hang out alone when I've been busy shopping and just want a good sandwich or salad. Good down-home food, reasonable prices, and always good, friendly service.

One of my FAVORITE RESURANTS ~ great food , great service!

MESA CAFE is GREAT! Consistently GOOD FOOD and GREAT SERVICE! You can stop by for a quick bite or have a reasonably priced relaxed lunch/dinner. Breakfasts are good too! All w/ a nice selection. The Cobb Salad is one of my favorites! Always fresh and yummy!

Great food/the best service!!

You gotta love this place it's super. The food is the best and modestly priced. The servers are like Human Sun-beams. Zen, Marina, Marie, Lisa and Ivy. They are attentive and cheerful. Keep the coffee coming. I eat breakast or lunch there every day. It is cool fun place. thanks, George Cassill

Santa Barbara has been my home for many years and one of the most well established restaraunts i enjoy eating at is the mesa cafe. Everytime i come in, the staff greets me by first name with a high level of enthousiasm. This has also formed into a regualar dining spot for me because of the consistantly great food along with some awsome drink prices. As far as the negative comments from other reviews about the staff and food, i have not seen one imperfection in how the staff treats their customers, and if the food does not turn out right, they are always prompt in fixing your order. For as long as im living in Santa Barbara, the Mesa Cafe will continue to be one of my tops choices for dining and also just a place to hang out with good people surrounding me. (Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!)
