Good chips and fresh salsa bar. Chicken burrito, chicken tamale, rajas tamale, chicken sopes, chicken huaraches with rice--all are really good and the people are nice!!

I have tried many mexican restaurants and the food served here is at the top of its game. The Chili Colorado and Chili Verde were delicious, the rice moist and tasty and the meat succulent. My boys loved their asada burritos they commented on how generous the burrito was filled with meat. The prices are reasonable, we will be returning!

Awesome food, great service from the owner

As a special had the birria de chivo which was excellent. We also had fish taco which was great. We subsequently came back and ordered take out. The food, the service and the packaging was first class.

Avoid the chaos. Eat here.

So, the other places up the street are almost too popular which can result in a cramped, loud and uncomfotable dining experience. Here at Rosales you get excellent food, cooked to order. Delcious, hot chips, a decent selection of salsa and friendly service all in a clean spacious environment. The gringo ratio is on the lower side. Take that as you will.

The atmosphere was nice. Plenty of choice of where to sit since no one else was eating there at 6 pm. While we were there two other customers came in. Truly a Mom and Pop operation. My wife's chicken enchiladas were ok. My hueraches al pastor were decent. The rice and beans were not hot. They did not serve use chips and salsa to nibble on. Did not try anything from the salsa bar. This was our first and last time. With so many better Mexican restaurants on Milpas we were disappointed.

good food friendly people

A hidden gem of a place.

Went to use my Axxess card and wasn't expecting anything too exciting. Was impressed with the reasonable prices and a lot of a-la-carte items but the menu didn't offer a lot of combination plates. The owner, working the counter, said he could accommodate any request, so I had a chili colorado dinner plate. Portions were generous, food was tasty, and the thick hand-made corn tortillas capped a very nice dinner. I would definitely return for more. The place has a serve yourself salsa bar but am still looking for HOT salsa.

tasty, reasonable, flexible

Rosales' Restaurant is worth a visit. Today we had birria (very tasty and a generous portion) and a rajas plate they custom-made with veggies but no rice/beans - delicious. The reasonably priced menu has all the expected things made nicely, plus some chipotle surprises and specials. Indoor and outdoor seating. Right behind AutoZone off Milpas on Montecito St.

Off the beaten path, but worth it

These people are trying very hard to please and deserve our support. Their prices are very competitive and their place is as clean as can be. Give them a try.

Not at all bad, good quality ingredients, pleasent staff.

I was in the area and decided to have lunch here. You order at the counter, no table service but they check up on you. Nice selection of food and attentive staff, the place was clean. Fill your own drinks, fine with me and unlimited refills. Large salsa bar, many choices. I had chicken enchiladas, rice, & beans $8.50. Nothing special but well made, lots of white chicken, sauce was pretty mild so I added pico de gaio, onions, & cilantro available from the salsa bar. Beans perfectly made, not greasy but a bit bland, only a tiny bit of crumbled cheese on it. The rice however was excellent, tender, moist, a few vegetables and subtle but wonderful seasoning. I enjoyed it and lo and behold I am sure I saw John run out and take a picture...I won't be in it I was outside but before I could chew and swallow and say hello he dashed off, no doubt many stops today. My only negative was some of the chips were very stale and some very fresh. the chip salsa is also a bit different but I liked it. I'd say give it a try!
