Alaways Outstanding!!!!
Reviewer: Melanie from Santa Ynez, CA
If you love sushi, YOU HAVE TO TRY GSH!!! Not only is the sushi the absolute freshest, most delicious fish you will ever taste, but owner Vinh is most likely the sweetest, most generous person you will ever meet. Our favorite is salmon and yellowtail and every time the salmon melts in the mouth both delicate and savory while the yellowtail is almost buttery rich. Even more, our son who has loved Goleta Sushi since he was 3 and is now 7 is almost immediately met with his favorite salmon sashimi without even ordering (and a Vinh hug). And if you like innovation, this is the place: whether kama or spicy, you will never be disappointed. Thank you Vinh! We love Goleta Sushi!

Excellent Japanese Restaurant

It's my opinion that the negative reviews must be written by a certain individual with a grudge. I've lived in big cities and traveled to Japan. I know fresh sushi. Goleta Sushi is always fresh and the portions are generous. Try the calamari appetizer (best calamari in town), the spider roll, the chirashi, or any other rolls that suit your fancy. And the friendly owner genuinely loves her regular customers and treats them like kings. I really can't think of a better sushi place in town.

YUM.That is all.

It was our first te here and it was awesome! The food was delicious and the servers were so nice! I recommend it!!!!

Place is great

This is the best sushi in town that I have found, hands down. Ive tried 4 other places and have been disappointed with the price, quantity, or quality (or several or all of these) at the other places. Its still $20 or a tad more for me to get full, but its great. Dont be put off because its on Hollister. I think they and Arigato are the only 2 places in town with the highest quality fish, and Arigato is more expensive.

The Best in this town.

I have had sushi everywhere in our county, and this is the best sushi and service around! THE best miso soup ever, sashimi SO fresh, tempura light and with fresh local vegetables, and a great support staff. I have never had a bad meal here, and always been treated extremely well, and have never been overcharged. I have lived within minutes as well as hours of this place, and have always come back no matter where I have lived. If you want excellent, fresh sushi at a fair price, you MUST try this place. If you are looking for cheap unhealthy food, Taco Bell and McDonalds are right down the street.

Positively delighful

I have eaten here numerous times. The food is ALWAYS fresh. The service is friendly and the owner is clearly highly involved in her business. I'm surprised by the occasional bad review...I'm guessing the competition is planting some seeds of dissent. I have witnessed customers who were real jerks be treated well in spite of their crappy attitudes. The sushi chefs, whatever their nationality, are good at what they do, and are friendly if not fluent in English (get over it). I have always been comfortable and well-served at Goleta Sushi House and I have never ever left hungry.

WOREST service in town

My friend and I went there for dinner on Friday, they were kinda full[it is a small place] We stood in front the door, not too long, but, the worst thing was when the owner and her two severs saw us, they pretented they did not. There was nobody come to us, and say anything; they just passed by us like we were not exist. It was my worest experience. We will never come back.

Goleta Sushi does simple great!
Reviewer: Brady Michel from Tustin, CA
In from tustin after a long day of mission tours and a lot of excessive walking, and was treated to the best and kindest service in goleta. Sushi wasn't unique in selection but the rolls with simple ingredients were amazingly creative! I highly recommend Goleta Sushi House.

the food was decent. the sushi chef(WHATEVER) was this little mexican, who didn't speak very good english, no less understood what i asked him. The place was lit like the Las Vegas strip. Too bright. Would not recommend this place.

Great place!

This place has great food, great service and you always leave there wanting more even though you're so stuffed you can't take one more bite. The pieces of fish on their nigiri is the biggest piece of fish I've ever seen.

Be sure to check your bill!!! Menu does not reflect prices.
Reviewer: Brian from Santa Barbara, CA
I have always enjoyed dining here due to the close proximity to my office and always felt quite neutral about both the service and food (there's much much better sushi in Goleta and SB). Today was definitely an exception that I have to share about, especially since they weren't busy. First off, the server used high pressure techniques to try and get quick decisions out of us even though I said multiple times I needed to look over the menu. Then a second server came over and started the same routine. Our meals came out about 10 minutes apart and mine had no wasabi or ginger, which took another 5 minutes to get a server's attention. The real kicker was when after the bill came, I went up and asked for the menu to check that both of our meals were priced right (they seemed way higher than I remembered) the server kept trying to hand me the paper checklist. I finally compared the two, and voila - the prices on the physical menu were lower. I'm going to wait a few weeks and go back, and will update this review accordingly.

Exceptionally fresh tasting salmon. I only eat California rolls and these were very good. Friendly service. This is a very good place.
