This is the place for "hard to find" favorite soda drinks!
Reviewer: James from Santa Barbara, CA
I really like this place! Despite it's unassuming size, it has ALL of the great soda brands and is a fun place to try some root bear or ginger ale brand you've never heard of! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the patio seating is lovely and in a relatively quiet corner of the Plaza.

Best deli EVER!!

The plaza deli is the best place to eat in SB! Quick, affordable, and all around amazing spot. The only thing wrong is that there isnt one on every corner! The sandwiches are amazing, and the service is second to none. Larry does a great job and his staff is incredible. I eat here several times a week, and it has never been anything but positive. Thanks for having such a great spot in SB!!

Best Deli In Santa Barbara and I tried them ALL!!!

This is by far the best Deli in the area hands down. The leanest Reuben Pastrami and all around great French Dip and Au Jus. 5 stars!!!!!

Something has changed :(

This use to be my go to place for sandwiches weekly. After today I don't think they can compete with the other Delicatessens in Santa Barbara. I thought my sandwich today had seen better days. First off as I walked in I noticed that the staff was not in tune with each other. Normally they are organized chaos, didnít work today. As we were waiting for our lunch to go, there were numerous of sandwiches going back to the kitchen for a fixing. I did realize that we would be one of them too. We ordered one full Chicken Club and a half Spicy Chicken. They gave us two half chicken clubs. Sent it back and gave us three half chicken clubs, still didnít get my Spicy Chicken, my lettuce had black edges and bread was stale. Iím not impressed anymoreÖsomething has changed. While we waited for our sandwiches the second time you could hear the employees arguing. That is not professional guys. I won't be back (I'm only leaving this comment because I want the owner to know what we thought of his deli today. I don't want to deter anyone from eating here) :(

Best sandwiches in SB

This place has the meatiest sandwiches at affordable prices. If you really want a good sandwich and like lots of ingredients with high quality meat and cheese, this is the place. I've been going there for years and years, as have many people. He does deli right!

Great sandwiches at reasonable prices.

My family goes to Plaza Deli a few times/month. Though it is a distance from our house, it is soooo much better than chain sandwich shops. The subs are incredible, especially the spicy turkey. The french bread is very fresh and delicious. They use leaf lettuce, which is so much better than other places that use shredded lettuce which inevitably drops out of the sandwich. Plaza Deli employees are nice and efficient. The only suggestion is that they tend not to put enough mayo on the sandwiches, rendering them a bit on the dry side. Other than that, I love Plaza Deli. It is an authentic sub shop. Give it a try, and you will love it!

Kid-friendly, great sandwiches, great service

I eat at Plaza Deli often because of its very reasonably priced sandwiches, fresh ingredients, huge portions, and cool bottled soda selection. The owner is ALWAYS there and very friendly and accommodating. I went there today with my infant daughter - a drizzly day - to meet some friends for lunch. The owner offered for us to sit inside of Pizza Mizza next door so we could keep baby warm (the Deli's indoor only sits about 4 people and was already full). When Pizza Mizza was packed, the Deli owner moved tables and chairs under the awnings and even moved some heat lamps over for us. Even though some of my friends were eating Pizza from next door, he was more than accommodating and made our dining experience awesome! Not to mention that my California Chicken Sandwich was delish! Highly recommend!

Great food, fast service, great atmosphere. I work at the mall and don't have a lot of time for lunch but that is not a problem even when it is packed. Larry is a good guy and knows what he is doing with service. For instance when it is packed he himself stands by the line and asks what you want before your at the register. I myself have only waited a maximum of 5 min for my food after ordering it i definitely recommend it!

Absolutely amazing. I live in Isla Vista and I make it a point to swing by any time I'm out in Goleta or Santa Barbara. Cash is the only accepted form of payment so I always make sure I have a couple bucks when I go out. I've even spent the extra change to use their ATM when I only had my card, best transaction fee I've ever spent. I'm 100% in love with their California Club. Same price as a chicken bacon ranch at subway, but I'm willing to drive the 10 minutes to get this delicious sandwich.

Awesome Menu

I LOVE EATING HERE! My only problem is that I can never decide what to get because everything is so good! Of course I have preferences, but I have never had anything I would not try again. The owner and staff are always great and they show the true SB hospitality that this town was built on.

Where's the Beef?
Reviewer: John from Santa Barbara, CA
Actually, I ordered a turkey/bacon sandwich today and was extremely disappointed with the amount of turkey in the sandwich; it was hardly visible. What was in the sandwich was tasty but just not enough; that said, this was my first and last visit here. By the way, this is the first time I have gone online to criticize a restaurant here in SB and I've been here over 20 years.
