BLAZE PIZZA CLOSES

Reader K.D. let me know that Blaze Pizza in the Five Points Shopping Center has closed. I confirmed that their phone number is disconnected and that the local outlet for the chain is no longer listed on their corporate website. The eatery opened in December 2016 at 3925 State Street, in the former home of Carl’s Jr. Blaze Pizza opened in Isla Vista in March 2014 and closed in January 2022. Blaze Pizza uses an interactive assembly line format that allows guests to create their own custom-built artisanal pizzas at high speed.

This is right by our house, and early on we loved it. Then, I dunno, it just kinda started to fade in quality. We used to love it, as a family we probably had it 3x per month or so, for a while it was our Friday night thing when the kids were little. Kinda sad, but it hasn’t been very good for a while.

I love(d) that place, as did my kids and grands. The quality and vibe were ALWAYS great! I’m sorry to hear they’ve left this location. Bad news for us!

  3. Brendan says:

Bummer. I hadn’t been for a while but just went there a couple months ago and thought it was good value.

  4. Rita says:

I want to say thank you to the owner and the people who worked there. You were always kind and welcoming. We loved family pizza night at Blaze and will miss our Friday nights there. You will be missed.

what a shame. best pizza on upper Stare area, always was fairly busy Most likely the franchise concept didn’t work out because of high rent and numbers of employees required many times i in and there were more workers than customers

What happened? So many places going out of business. The silver bow, nooemee pizza, etc etc; it is a pricing problem, greed, what gives guys?

  8. Melissa says:

Shoot! We live right up the street and we ordered from Blaze at least once a month. It was reliable and quick. Rusty’s is closed for renovation so we are now in a vast wasteland of good pizza.
