Readers Primetime and Chris tell me that Shoreline Cafe at Leadbetter Beach, across from Santa Barbara City College (where I studied at one point in my life), has been sold. Primetime says its license was assigned to Oliver Pihlar under the business entity Palacika LLC. Proprietor Steven Marsh has owned the business since 1997 received approval from the Harbor Commission in March. I am told Pihlar has 20 experience as a business owner in New York and real estate in Santa Barbara and had an award winning restaurant in Manhattan. Real Estate details: The Shoreline Cafe is 5,098 square feet. The average monthly rent is $19,383. The lease is a monthly rent of 10% of Tenant’s Gross Receipts. The lease has nine years remaining.

OH NO!!! I imagine this is the end of tasting some of the wonderful delights that were created at Paradise Cafe (burgers, Margaritas, etc) as Shoreline kept and used those recipes. I can only imagine that the new owner is going to turn Shoreline Cafe into some trendy, all spicy recipes as ACME did to what is now la paloma.
I so miss Paradise Cafe, and now will miss Shoreline Beach cafe
