BEST HAMBURGER?

Reader Mimi tells me about the results of her quest to find the best burger in town.

“In my search for the best hamburger (not smashburger) I found it: Lieu Dit tasting room at 23 E. Canon Perdido on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. Truly the best I’ve ever had! Best Smashburger is of course Third Window. – Mimi”

What is your choice?

Cody’s Basic Burgers are superb! They use big, 1/3-pound, beautifully flavored beef patties, fluffy house brioche buns, and just the basics inside: good mayo, tomato, red onions, a big lettuce leaf, and house-made pickles.

These are large, tasty, satisfying burgers—not goobered up with sauces and piled so high that you have to cut them up because they’re simply too big to hold and eat!

BTW, Cody’s fries are the best thing this side of France.

Lieu Dit tasting room used to be Fresco’s downtown location, I believe?

Why would a smash burger be a separate category?

Nowhere else to say it but here, Burger week needs to be at least two weeks long! Not enough time to get through all the ones I wanted to try, so many great options.
