WHITE CAPS BEACH CLUB OPENS IN GOLETA

Here is a message to you from reader Rip:

Hi John,

Just wanted to let you know that the FLIR Cafe [at 6769 Hollister Avenue in Goleta] has re-opened under new management. White Caps Beach Club is now running the cafe (whitecapsbeachclub.com). It’s open weekdays from 8 am to 1 pm for breakfast and lunch. Food is really good. It’s at the Teledyne-FLIR Building by Target Goleta, but is open to the public during that time. You can even order their breakfast items for lunch. Say hi to Enrique the manager. Really friendly guy. If there’s something you don’t see on the menu, he’s happy to try to work with you on that. They even on occasions serve a really good lobster roll. Even if it’s not on the menu, Enrique might be able to make it for you.

Inside throwback tip – ask Enrique for an “Enrique Roll” – if he can make it, you won’t be disappointed.

I think this gem in Goleta is very good, nice vibe for a company cafe, great quality and good prices. The public is welcome and encouraged. The breakfast is great, chilaquiles are the bomb. Taco Tuesdays, and a nice mix of lunch offerings.

Have been here a few times since they’ve opened up. My go to has been the turkey melt, which happens to be on the best brioche bread in town.

Just a few days ago I went back for their Taco Tuesday. Super good, homemade tortillas and a bunch of filler options. Enrique never disappoints!

Kind of hard to find – look for the White Caps Bistro signage on Hollister right at the FLIR building. The bistro is located down the parking lot, behind the main building up front. Open to the public!!
