Today I received a message from Antonio Gerli, General Manager of The Ellwood restaurant coming to Goleta Beach, in the former home of Beachside Bar-Cafe, who tells me that the seaside dining destination hopes to open next week but does not yet have an exact day planned.

UPDATE: On Thursday, February 6, I mentioned on my radio show (Thursdays, 8:15 a.m., KLITE 101.7) that The Ellwood is opening next week and the station quickly received a call from listener Leo who said that the restaurant had a soft opening the previous day (February 5). Leo said that he enjoyed a nice meal and that the restaurant looks amazing. So The Ellwood might be open in some capacity but not officially.
