NAMASTE INDIAN BISTRO TO OPEN ON STATE

This just in from reader LetsActive:

Hi John, I don’t recall hearing about this… the former Mollie’s location now has an awning saying Namaste Indian Bistro. I wonder how it compares to the other Indian bistro two blocks away?

I held on to this news for awhile because I wasn’t sure it was going to happen. I called the owner of Namaste Indian Bistro, who used to be co-owner of Flavor of India, and was told they hope to open October 6 or 7 (this Sunday or Monday) at 1218 State Street, the former home of Bedda Mia, Mollie’s, Tupelo Junction Cafe, and Marcello Ristorante. This location is next door to the Granada Theatre.

Interesting that two Indian restaurants will be right across the street from each other, with Bibi-Ji on the west side of the street. And another Indian restaurant 1.5 blocks south. No shortage of downtown Indian. Hopefully they can all succeed.
