PALACE GRILL TO REMAIN OPEN THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS

In July I broke the very sad news that the Palace Grill at 8 East Cota Street would be closing on September 8, 2024. The family behind the iconic eatery now tells me that the restaurant will continue operating through the holidays.

It’s difficult finding the words to express our amazement and gratitude for the show of support from our incredible guests. You know who you are because you have been to the Palace since our notice of potential closure, and have seen the excitement and celebration filling the Palace every night!  Given this endorsement, it just doesn’t seem right to close on September 8, but rather continue operations long enough to be there for our guests through the Holiday Season. As one might expect, our incredible team has been stretched to the max, but they persevere. Staff, suppliers, magician, musicians have all stepped up and pledge to continue. These days there is no shortage of restaurant closures, but a resurrection is simply unheard of…truly “A Wonderful World”.

With heartfelt appreciation,

What Holiday is the Palace referring to?
    Labor Day? Thanksgiving? Christmas?

OMG! This is THE place for 30 years that has had every birthday, every anniversary, every just because I’m dying for your food place. My husband passed 10 years ago, and I’ll never forget when “What a Wonderful Life” was started. It was shortly after that we went to eat there and he asked…”honey, did you do that for ME!”it was his favorite song. I moved to San Diego but still visit once a month or so in Westlake Village…and NEVER would I pass on Palace! You are all so much a part of people’s lives. I love you all❤️

Thank you all for persevering to remain open a lil longer. We’re all hoping this can somehow turn into a permanent opening. The Palace is one of my very fave restaurants ever, and I know many, many others say the same. It goes well beyond the amazing dishes you serve up; the people who work there, the ambiance, the vibe, the decor…it is more than just a great restaurant. We all feel like part of the Palace family there. We love you guys and Santa Barbara will not quite be the same without your doors open.
