INFAMOUS ADDRESSES

6578 Trigo Road strikes again. This high-turnover address in Isla Vista has added another name to its history books. Pueblo Pollo at 2984 State Street closed in August 2023 and moved to this restaurant graveyard last November. I was in the area visiting the nearby Amazon store and noticed that Pueblo Pollo’s sign is gone and the building appears to be vacant again. The former tenant list (in the years that I have been keeping track) includes Pueblo Pollo, Checo’s Mexican restaurant, Mojo, 805 Kabob, Lovin Oven Mediterranean Bakery & Cafe, Cafe Int’L, and Fresh Wok.

Slightly edging out 6578 Trigo Road for the longest list of former tenants since I have been tracking restaurants is 413 State Street in Santa Barbara which includes Taza Mediterranean Street Kitchen, JJ’s Diner, Onus Donuts, Urkeb, The Mex Authentic, Pace, Momma Donna’s, Billies, and Lettuce B. Frank. Hopefully the next tenant, Apertivo, breaks this streak and does extremely well!

And finally, in a building on West De la Guerra Street, I attended three grand openings in one year. It was heartbreaking for all involved.

Happy times in 2016 at 805 Kabob, 6578 Trigo Road in Isla Vista.

Hi! This is so very sad…And finally, in the building near West De la Guerra Street, I attended three grand openings in one year. It was heartbreaking for all involved. Which address is this?
    Thank you, Marilyn L.
