QUESTION OF THE DAY

Hi John,

I always look forward to reading “The Restaurant Guy” in the Independent. You keep all of us informed on what’s happening around town.

As you probably know, Sushi GoGo at the Breakwater closed a few months ago. It was quite sudden and has yet to re-open.
The sign on the door says it is “under construction” and will re-open soon. It’s been posted for a few months with no signs of activity or progress.

I heard on the grapevine that they were doing some re-modeling/repairs without a permit and that the City shut them down.

Sushi GoGo has always been a favorite, good food, reasonable prices, and a great way to enjoy the activity at the harbor.
I hope they will re-open.

Perhaps you could shed some light on their status. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

I’ll look into this and get back to you!

I thought I read somewhere that Brophys wanted to take it over and make it an oyster bar? I hope not. I live SushiGoGo

  2. Hefe says:

Just the existing Brophys downstairs bar and the Brophys retail space I thought.

Wish Chucks would go back in the naval building.

    • Brier says:

Yes just those two satellite locations at the harbor right now (unless you count On The Alley). R was saying that Brophy’s maybe WANTS to take it over.

    Hi, FYI..
A sign is going up at Turnpike shopping center.
    “La Cantina”.
I know you reported on this before.
    Any updates?
    Thanks!

Posting online that “I heard on the grapevine that X restaurant did something illegal and got caught” is HIGHLY inappropriate. Possibly even illegal under libel laws. John, I’d take down that part of Sue’s note right away. I’m sure she meant no harm, but…

It’s not slander if it’s true.
