Last July I broke the news that Wexler’s Deli is coming to the Santa Barbara Public Market. Reader IMissRexofSB tells me that the eatery will open on April 8th.

Had lunch at Wexler’s today and I cannot say enough good things about our food. Hubby and I shared a rueben (corned beef) and a pastrami sandwich. Both were perfect. Just the right proportion of ingredients in the rueben, and the smoke on both meats was as good as it gets, subtle but enticing. Excellent rye read and dill pickles. Their staff was welcoming and seemed happy to be there. All in all, delightful! Now I’ll go back to my happy food coma.
