Hello Restaurant Guy.

Re: Via Vai Trattoria Pizzeria on East Valley Road, Santa Barbara/Montecito – “Upper Village”.  A 20-year-old favorite is stopping lunch April First – the sign says on the door. Sending customers across the street to its sister restaurant – Pane E Vino. Don’t know how long dinners will continue but it will end. Famous for its patio and pizza and great menu. Frequented by Ellen, Richard Dreyfus, Dennis Miller, and more…

    So, so sorry to learn of the end of Via Vai — have been a loyal customer since the opening.

    Darn shame. Good food and it was fun watching the neighborhood walk on by or come in to pick up their take away food. Another bit of “Old Montecito” lost.
