ELEANOR HARDY OF JEANNINE’S BAKERY DIES

All Jeannine’s Bakery locations will be closed on Tuesday, October 24, in remembrance of Eleanor Hardy who has passed away. She, with her husband Gordon, bought the eatery in the 1980s after her daughter, Alison Hardy, fell in love with the place. The hugely popular brand has been a family business for more than 30 years and Alison has since grown the restaurant’s local footprint to occupy several locations across the South Coast.

  1. Hefe says:

Rest in peace Mrs. Hardy. The best and favorite teacher I had K-12. Roosevelt elementary 3rd grade 1971-72.

Many years later I was 28 years old and walked into Jeannines on Carrillo. At the transaction counter she said “are you ####?” In that instant I recognized her and told her she was my favorite teacher!

Such a lovely lady, you will be missed.
