In March 2022 I posted a message here that the wildly-popular Chick-Fil-A is coming to 4765 Calle Real in Noleta which was then the home of IHOP (now located at 7127 Hollister Avenue in Goleta, near Costco). I took a sneak peek at the property and no construction has started though a perimeter fence has been added. The interior is in suspended animation, mostly unchanged since IHOP departed in August 2022. The furniture, that hosted many a joyous Grand Slam Breakfast over decades, is all still there, but some of the interior equipment has been removed. Given Chick-Fil-A excellent financial status I assume it will open within about 6-12 months after construction begins, which starts who-knows-when.
