Several readers have let me know that the Jewish eatery Wexler’s Deli is coming to the downtown area. I have also heard but not confirmed that the location will be inside the Santa Barbara Public Market.
“Wexler’s Deli stands for three things: tradition, craftsmanship, and quality,” says their website wexlersdeli.com. “Born of a desire to serve classic Jewish deli food made by people who care, Wexler’s uses old-school methods to handcraft our pastrami and smoked salmon. After curing in a special blend of salt and spices, our meats and fish are slowly smoked in house over apple wood and sliced by hand in front of your eyes.”
Wexler’s Deli has 2 locations, both in in Southern California; Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Best news ever!!
Yay, finally, can’t wait!!!
This is great news… Can’t wait!
Oh thank heaven! We have been too long without a Jewish deli and they have a great reputation. So come on S.B., lets keep them busy and open! Can’t wait either. I feel my arteries clogging happily already.
Nothing has survived that back left corner of the market. Hopefully they break the “curse”.
New ownership has done a great job w the market. Definitely improved that back area.
FINALLY – after 30+ years of driving to TARZANA/Woodland Hills – Camarillo in a pinch – a REAL Deli.
Would b even better if they were going to b somewhere where there was handy parking. Maybe a second location soon?
I was so excited…but no Pastrami sandwich on the menus ! Pastrami lox sounds interesting but I need real Pastrami.
I do see on Goldbelly they have Wexler’s Pastrami so maybe the online menus don’t have it all…cant wait to find out.
