The lodging window for the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse opened last weekend for many hotels. The city in the U.S. with the very best chance of clear weather on that date, that is also on the eclipse center line, is Eagle Pass, Texas. So I booked a room there and they are already nearly sold out. Numerous other places across the country might have a great view of the 2024 total solar eclipse if Mother Nature cooperates and it is not cloudy. Weather is everything to eclipse chasers. The next total solar eclipse in the continental U.S. will be in 2044.

Stayed in Portland OR for the last one and drive down to Salem to be in the zone of totality. Took 30 minutes get there and 5 hours to get back.
A traffic nightmare.
We did similar but were about 80 miles to the east of you at an Indian reservation that was also in the zone. Spectacular! We were north of the crowds so had no congestion getting back.
