Just in time for Valentine’s Day, David Back and Monika Draggoo, owners of Santo Mezcal (119 State Street) have opened Maiz Picante Taqueria at 2714 De la Vina Street, the former longtime home of Daniel’s Mexican Bakery. The new restaurant is between Handlebar Coffee and Edomasa.
“Maiz Picante is a modern Mexican taqueria serving authentic, spectacular, delicious, and affordable street tacos in Santa Barbara,” says Back. “Our street tacos include authentic Mexican tortillas with nixtamal combined with delicious varieties of salsas. We are also offering Agua Frescas and Micheladas. We invite all of our Greater Santa Barbara 805 family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to stop by and enjoy the rich flavor of Mexico.”
