This just in from reader Brendan: “The ParadICE shave ice and Hustle & Grind coffee place in Paseo Nuevo appears to have closed. A note on the door says something about the difficulty of running the business while raising kids (I can’t remember the exact wording).” ParadICE open in October 2018 followed by their coffee companion open in November 2020.

Loved that place, the delish flavors, the refreshment, the sweet corn syrup and crazy colorings were amazing for the kids. Maybe have subsidized, state run day care for parents in the US empire that way parents can work and have kids cared for.
