Reader Tim tells me that Sweetie’s Ice Cream Shop, serving McConnell’s Ice Cream, has opened on the Mesa at 1826A Cliff Drive next to the Cliff Room. Sweetie’s, which is not owned by McConnell’s, is brought to you by entrepreneur Chris Chiarappa who is involved with Mesa Burger, Lighthouse Coffee, and many other local culinary adventures. Sweetie’s is open Sunday-Thursday 1-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 1-10 p.m. Chiarappa recently announced that he is opening a taproom named The Landing at 5690 Calle Real in Goleta, formerly Outback Steakhouse.
