Shalhoob’s coming to Santa Barbara Public Market

Reader Mary let me know that local culinary icon Shalhoob’s has signed on to have a location inside the Santa Barbara Public Market at 38 West Victoria Street that will open on March 18th. The name of the new venue is “Shalhoob’s @ The Market” and a sign for the business is now on display. Family owned and operated since 1973, Shalhoob Meat Company provides premium custom cut meats and poultry to homes and restaurants throughout the city. They opened a restaurant, Shalhoob Meat Co. Patio, in the Funk Zone at 220 Gray Avenue in July 2017. Restaurant representatives tell me that they are in discussions to open an additional location at 5112 Hollister Avenue in Goleta, the former home of Woody’s BBQ, but “nothing has been greenlit.” The space is currently advertised as available.

I am surprised they didn’t take the spot in the back left of the building. Seems like another solid option for food at the public market.

Word is they are taking over the Garden too.

    Will see.
