Reader Primetime tells me that there appears to be remodeling going on at the empty space at 505 State Street, the former home of Crazy Jim’s Tacos y Mas (2020-2021), Ana’s Taco Bar (2014-2020), Mad Dogs (2006-2014), and Open Door (1980s). Maybe it’s nothing, perhaps just a new coat of paint by a landlord trying to attract a tenant. Or maybe it’s everything and The Cheesecake Factory has miraculously found a way to fit into a retail space the size of a Montecito walk-in closet. More likely it’s something in between. We shall see.
