Harbor Restaurant update

Last June I wrote that iconic Harbor Restaurant/Longboards Grill was for sale for $1,750,000. The owner John Scott is retiring after running the business for four decades. The sale includes Type 47 (general), 58 (catering), 77 (events) liquor licenses. On December 10, 2021 the aforementioned permits were transferred to a new owner, Eugenio Hernan Sanchez, under the business name of Santa Barbara Harbor Restaurant, Inc. This transfer, which is pending, suggests to me that the eatery was sold and that the restaurant name will remain the same, though I reserve the right to be wrong about that. Some readers told me they had hoped the landmark would become a Connie & Ted’s, The Lobster, Sardine Factory, Coasterra, or Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and that now appears unlikely.
