Calvary Cafe coming to the Funk Zone

A full service restaurant tentatively called Calvary Cafe is coming to 1 North Calle Cesar Chavez Ste. 21, the home of Calvary Chapel. Initially it will be open on Sundays during the day and Wednesday nights for events related to the church. Eventually the plan is to be open during the week at lunch hour and serve all the businesses in the surrounding area.The restaurant will include a patio with a large deck, tables, chairs, umbrellas, and heaters. Construction is in the early stages and the eatery should open later this year.

    Great news for the nearby worker bees in the area. The location certainly cannot get any “funkier”, as it will be adjacent to and downwind of the El Estero wastewater treatment plant.
    If you’re a local and happened to have passed by this part of Santa Barbara, you won’t need a map to find the cafe!
