In March 2020 we broke the news that the Riviera Bar is coming to 20 West Figueroa Street, the former home of the iconic dive bar, The Sportsman. The wait is now over and Riviera Bar is open daily from 4:30 p.m. to close. The new local watering hole offers cocktails, wine, California beers, snacks, salads and plates. Riviera Bar is run by veterans from the iconic (and departed) Paradise Cafe including Kevin Boss, Karen Collyer, Jim Mishler, and Oliver Davis.

I hope it will have some of the feeling of the Paradise. Its replacement is not good.
