Wingstop coming to Isla Vista

While on my way to a haircut in Isla Vista (a few blocks from The Restaurant Guy headquarters) I noticed that Wingstop, which opened next to  La Cumbre Plaza in February, will be opening a second area location at 888 Embarcadero Del Norte Ste. C in the former home of Subway and, decades ago, Taco Bell. Isla Vista Subway closed earlier this year.

When was this a Taco Bell? I came to IV in 1992, and think it has always been a Subway during my tenure.

Any word on whats going on at the former South Coast Deli location?
When I came to IV in 1996 that was Espresso Roma, where I got my very first job here on the Central Coast 🙂

A few rumors have hit my inbox related to that space which was the birthplace of Fedex Office and Habit Burger Grill. I’ll let you know if any of them seem more true than false.

I remember Taco Bell was there late ‘60s, early ‘70s
