Wingstop opens in La Cumbre Plaza

Reader Steve H. let me know that Wingstop has opened in La Cumbre Plaza at 3849 State Street, next to next to Chipotle. Wingstop began as a small buffalo-style chicken wing restaurant in Garland, Texas, in 1994, Wingstop has expanded to more than 1,500 restaurants open across the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK and the United Arab Emirates. Reader Cris let me know that a sign for the fast-growing eatery has appeared in La Cumbre Plaza between See’s Candies and Chipotle.

“Our proprietary recipes, outstanding food and superior customer service created a demand that could only be satisfied by more locations,” says a message on the company’s website. “We’re not in the wing business. We’re in the flavor business. Wingstop is the destination when you crave fresh never faked wings, hand-cut seasoned fries and any of our famous sides. For people who demand flavor in everything they do, there’s only Wingstop – because it’s more than a meal, it’s a flavor experience.”

    Went on Friday. They were fantastic and the flavor varieties were amazing. Happy to finally have an exclusive wingstore in town, although I do love me Rusty’s classic wings the best. Highly recommend that you order online and do pickup. It was chaos on a Friday evening. Ordered in person and the wait was 30 minutes for pickup. Luckily walked over to Target and did some shopping to kill the time.

    Just what SB needs, more corporate american chain restos serving fast “food” and other marketing gimmicks geared towards the masses.

    Why is everyone so down on chain restaurants? Don’t know about this one specifically, but a lot in town are individually owned franchises. When people want to open a restaurant, sometimes they choose a franchise instead of their own concept and have to pay monthly franchise fees.

    Also, there was a void in this market for a wings only type place with a large variety of choices. Usually you could only find mild or spicy wings at restaurants or bars.

    Because most us corporations are horrible. They are consummate hu$tlers and hucksters. Carpet baggers into SB with mostly poor quality junk “food” for the masses. No thanks. Diabetes, heart attacks from burgers, burgers, pizza, wings, pizza, and pizza–oh and an occassional fish and chips refried frozen junk. That’s the SB standard palate.
