Hustle & Grind Coffee opens in Paseo Nuevo

Hustle & Grind Coffee Company has opened at 11 West De la Guerra Street, the former home of Live Culture and Pierre Lafond, sharing the same location as ParadICE Hawaiian Shave Ice.

Hustle & Grind Coffee Company is bringing locally roasted Cajé coffee and small eats to Paseo Nuevo, across from the movie theater.  The shop offers outdoor seating in the newly remodeled Paseo Nuevo and free WiFi for customers. The business is locally owned and operated by childhood friends Lee Jacobs & Marek Nold and managed by seasoned coffee aficionado Dylan Tighe.

“Our menu is a blend of a classic Italian coffee selection, with unique specialty coffee drinks, such as our Lavender Molasses Latte, using house-made syrup made by reducing down real lavender flower,” says Tighe.  “We also offer vegan options such as our delicious OG Avocado toast and alternative milks like house-made almond milk, which is lightly sweetened with dates.”

Hustle & Grind is supporting and partnering with other local businesses, such as Cajé for their premium locally roasted coffee, and Helena Bakery for their freshly baked bread, which is used for the shop’s toast selection. “Good coffee, good people, good vibes,” said Nold. “That’s what it’s all about.”

Back in 2018 Lee & Marek opened up their first business ParadICE Hawaiian Shave Ice but realized they were missing something to offer during the colder months of the year. Both being avid coffee drinkers, the answer was clear. “Coffee is not just any drink but a staple for my mornings,” said Jacobs. “We are really grateful to have linked up with Dylan who has helped us bring our coffee shop to life. He has extensive experience pullin’ espresso shots, crafting coffee drinks and is overall a great human being.”

Customers have the ability to order online for quick pickup or enjoy  coffee, eats and treats, from both businesses, in the socially distanced outside seating area. Right now, Hustle & Grind is offering a free cup of coffee to anyone who signs up on their website. The business is open daily from 7am-5pm. Call 805-560-8644 or visit
