C’est Cheese closes permanently

Here is a message to you from C’est Cheese at 825 Santa Barbara Street:

To Our C’est Cheese Family,

As MANY of you know, we had a big set back a few years ago during the Thomas Fire and resulting Mudslides. Ever since, we have been working to recover from its impact, but the current pandemic has been more than we can overcome. We hung on as long as we could, but unfortunately the time has come for us to close our doors. With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that Saturday, July 18th, was C’est Cheese’s last day in business.

Thank you everyone for all of the support and love that you have given us over the years. We never imagined how fulfilling our lives would become when we decided to open up our little cheese shop 16 years ago and for that we are forever grateful. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of this community.

With love to you all.

What a tragic loss. You could not identify a more thoughtful, skilled and enthusiastic couple. They will be missed. And I will be hoping for a rebirth in better times. Best of luck, Kathryn & Michael.

  2. Kristen Johansen says:

So sad to hear this. We loved every meal and every wine & cheese pickup we had. You will be very, very missed…

  3. Richard Mineards says:

    All too sad!
A truly wonderful store with an amazing selection of cheeses, even Yarg which comes from my home county of Cornwall in the south west of England.
And no social event will be the same without the products on display from the company.

We are so sorry to see this happen. We’ve been big fans and loyal customers since you opened 16 years ago.

Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!

No one restaurant and shop has been more loved and cherished than C’est Cheese. Kathryn and Michael were so warm and empathetic especially during our rolling yearly disasters. And their skill and love for food was also unequalled. I do hope they read this. Kathryn knows that they captured part of my heart with their care. Clearly they are meant for something great some important future destiny. Their talent and love will gather itself and create another project in the near future. In the meantime I will miss you and your bastion of good food. You fought the food fight!

Sad to see go. Maybe go to culture corner for great cheese.

Sad to see this not work out. I don’t know the owners but have an office in the area. They seem kind and genuine. Hopefully they stay strong as i am sure this has taken a toll. It can only get better from here.
