Lead Pastor Jake Barker and the Mission City Church Team are partnering with local entrepreneur Ivan Pelly, founder of ivan.bar, the all natural protein bar that hit the market last January, to help Santa Barbara’s medical professionals through this unprecedented time of need. Barker reached out to Pelly with an idea of how to help our front line medical professionals: that they donate dozens of boxes (totaling hundreds of bars) to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. “I was grateful to hear from Jake and excited to have the chance to help our medical workers,” said Pelly, who just recently released the brand new peanut butter flavor bar.
Mission City has time and time again proven to be, per their slogan, “for the city.” Whether it’s cleaning up the Adam’s School campus, or joining forces with the Boys and Girls Club to help Santa Barbara’s youth, they have made it their goal to serve the community. “We want to offer practical help and tangible hope,” said Barker. “That’s why we’re proud to partner with ivan.bar to provide healthy sustenance for the heroes in the medical community.”
During non-pandemic times, Mission City gathers at the Fé Bland Forum on Santa Barbara City College’s West Campus.
