Reader Don reports that Sides Hardware and Shoes restaurant at 2375 Alamo Pintado in Los Olivos has closed. The eatery opened in April 2012. A message from management reads:
“Sides Permanent Closure: We regret to inform our beloved guests of Sides’ permanent closure. We have been and continue to be longstanding members of the local community. We look forward to seeing you soon at Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn. – Matt and Jeff Nichols”
How does a place like this, as good and as popular as this, close? We need more places like this in the county, not less to zero.
Sides will be very sorely missed….it has been a primary reason for me to come to Los Olivos from SB.
Best of luck
In your future endeavors
I go up to the valley twice a month just to shop and eat and relax. Every single time I’m there, no matter what time of year or day of the week, this place was PACKED.
What happened?!
Ugh, such a bummer. I loved Sides SO MUCH. We would make special trips to Los Olivos just get lunch there. I will miss the bacon steaks, the herby ranch, those fried chicken sandos….. sigh.
I was talking to Chad Stevens the other day and someone brought up his potentially opening another restaurant, he replied that Sambo’s was enough to keep him busy. Maybe they just want to slow down a bit.
