so glad I went just before they closed for a final meal there, likely wont be going back there, too many changes. I do wonder if they changed their Fries though, had the best Fries in a sit-down restaurant in town. Oh well, add it to the list of closed restaurants I will miss in town.

Are they still doing lunch? And the nightly specials?

Where is the Gazpacho? Gazapacho!!! My wife’s favorite!

Paradise? Are you listening? Bring back the Gazpacho!

I dont know if they had it year round previously. Bi owe er it appears that this chef is aiming a bit higher and gazpacho is best served when fresh tomatoes are at their peak.

TYPO: However, it appears this chef….

Ahhh …good point. The gazpacho seemed to be available year round, but maybe I only went during warmer months before? But what about the chili! also loved getting a cup of chili. That is also missing. How hard is is it to keep chili on the menu? And where is the paradise pie? So many memories in that place…

There used to be several things for me to choose from. None of them are on the new menu. I see nothing for me. Adios, Paradise!

Also, Google “Paradise Cafe menu” and what comes up is Helena Avenue Bakery. Weird.

I really hope they don’t change too much, Paradise is an institution…I googled it to see if is was Helena Avenue Bakery, it looks like they fixed that glitch, but I did notice they now close at 9:00, used to be open every night until 11:00.

  7. PW says:

oops, I just saw on another website of Paradise Cafe menu, it is still Helena Avenue bakery menu, glitch not fixed…

Oh, man, I’m not allergic to change by any means. But changing the closing time from 11:00 to 9:00 is a deal-killer for me. There are already too few options for late-night dining in this provincial little burg of ours. I first moved here in 1985 to help open a new business. I worked 12- and 13-hour days, and it was such a relief to know I could grab a Paradise Burger when I threw in the towel at 10:30 at night. Furthermore, Paradise never engaged in the, “Oh, sorry, I know it says we serve till 11:00, but it was slow so the kitchen closed 15 minutes ago” bullshit that seems to be standard operating procedure around here.

Best club sandwich ever. Best fries. Great burger even with that onion bun! 34 years I’ve made it a regular lunch spot. It was never packed however so change may he needed. I’ll try it, although the menu does not excite me.

Went there for lunch yesterday and was so let down. No seared ahi salad, no club sandwich, terrible burger and a new super boring looking menu. I had the Cobb salad and it was so bland and small – a real disappointment. Acme, and the new chef really ruined a great menu. Also, we were there for lunch at 12:30 and it was a ghost town. seems like we weren’t the only ones who fee like this. better change back to the old menu or we’ll be seeing a for sale sign up before the end of the year.

I have lunch with friends there every couple months. We were disappointed that all our individual favorites were off the menu and the new things we tried were not great. We still have a gift certificate to use (grateful they are still honoring pre-sale certificates) so we will give it another try, but we are going elsewhere for our next lunch.
