Flor de Maiz is the newest restaurant to open on the Santa Barbara waterfront, at 29 East Cabrillo Boulevard, in the former home of El Torito. The old El Torito space was divided up into two restaurant venues, the other being Oku Sushi which opened last October.
Flor de Maiz is introducing the latest concept from restaurateur Carlos Luna and the talented team behind the Los Agaves Restaurants. Flor de Maiz celebrates the innovative cuisine of Oaxaca, a region in Mexico with a centuries-old legacy as a center of Mexican culinary culture, and whose cuisine is internationally renowned. Flor de Maiz features an open kitchen where guests can watch fresh tortillas being made, alongside a lively bar that opens onto prime patio seating with views of Stearns Wharf, the Harbor and the beautiful Santa Barbara coastline.
