DEAN COFFEE COMING TO HOLLISTER

Reader Eric says that at  6100-1 Hollister Avenue  (a newly-built office plaza directly across the street from High Sierra Grill) there is a sign on the window for “Dean – a Coffee Shop“. I stopped by to check it out and confirmed, and noticed that it appears it will be awhile before they open. Here is a message from owner Jennifer Shively:

Hi there, yes to confirm Dean: a coffee shop will be opening hopefully in February of this coming year. It is owned by Jennifer Shively, current owner of Lunchbox. Lunchbox has specialized in group lunch delivery for the past 20 years. The shop will be a combination of great coffee and a grab & go that is fully stocked with salads, sandwiches, snacks & reheatable meals for the local surrounding businesses. Because of the exceptional patio we hope to host many events as well for local non-profits and nearby businesses. Ideally, we will fulfill the niche need for reasonably priced simple fare available at your favorite local hangout. If you’re on your way to work and stop for a coffee you may find yourself picking up your lunch; and if you stop in for lunch you may well find yourself having a cup of coffee. Hopefully we will make the locals happy with our offerings. Personally I love the space and the patio is lounge-worthy once we outfit it with everything it needs. Also a great spot to bring your four-legged friend.

This is exciting news: I’ve used Lunchbox for years and their sandwiches and salads are so good!
