THE DAISY OPENS NOVEMBER 18TH

More than a year ago I reported that The Daisy is coming to 1221 State Street, opposite the Granada Theatre. The Daisy is a restaurant, a wine and beer bar, and a marketplace. Management tells me that opening day is Monday, November 18th at 8 a.m. Here is the official press-release:

The Daisy is a fresh, beautiful and friendly restaurant, marketplace and beer & wine bar in the heart of Santa Barbara.  Producing modern, seasonal Californian food, with vibrant flavors and using only the best ingredients.

Sit inside the light and airy space or out on the patio, watching the world go by on State Street; sipping a glass of wine from one of our sixteen taps or nursing a cup of locally roasted Low Pigeon coffee.  Everything is made in-house and our produce is sourced from the nearby farmers markets.

If you’re in a rush and need something to take home, pick up one of our delicious veggie-grain salads or sandwiches or some house-made hummus or house-smoked salmon, along with a half bottle of wine from our marketplace. Everyone is welcome at The Daisy.  We look forward to seeing you!

    Just had lunch there today with 2 friends. Everything was delicious, beautiful and it is evident they are paying attention to details. I had the smoked fish plate, which included 2 salmon preparations and a smoked trout salad. Accompaniments are grilled house made bread, labneh, cucumber ribbons, pickled red onion and a small salad that included pistachios with a lovely lemony vinaigrette. Other dishes were quiche and side salad, kale salad with chicken added and soba noodle salad with carrot and haricots verts. You order at the counter, which also has other items like beet salad, roasted squash, savory kabocha squash pastry, cookies and more. Can’t wait to return.
