A couple of rumors are circulating around town right now. One is that the iconic Paradise Cafe at 702 Anacapa Street is being sold to ACME Hospitality, the owners of The Lark, Loquita, Lucky Penny, Pearl Social, and more. The other rumor suggests that the Wine Cask was sold, or is being sold, to someone high up in the Walt Disney Company. As always, these rumors might be completely false or a brilliant forecast of future events. Your call.

Interesting about Paradise. It’s been years since the food could be called truly good food. At the same time, I really don’t love this (uniquely SB) thing where a few restaurant groups seem to own everything in town.
I am thrilled to see that the Paradise will remain open as it is a great SB restaurant that we’ve enjoyed for decades. The Acme group have the talent to keep it as a locals favorite and a great find for tourists.
