A new bar called the Glass House, from the owners of Milk & Honey and Alcazar, has opened in the patio next to 630 State Street, the former location of Blush. They had their soft opening last weekend and are expanding their hours in the coming weeks. I am told that they were inspired by botanist David Fairchild and have transformed Blush’s former outdoor space into a really lovely garden space.

just the outdoors? that seems odd
Yes, just outdoors
wellll.. good luck with that 🙂 fair weather for al
Wait…what about the restroom?? That’s inside…
I had cocktails there opening night. Although the glass house is categorized as out door, in the central part is a covered patio with beautiful love seat couches. It is reminiscent of an enclave you would find for a movie star hang out in the 60’s. The cocktail menu has been designed in leather with a leather binding. Alvaro said, “he wanted it to look like a botanists hand book.” A tremendous amount of thought has gone into this place, the lighting the music, the excellent service, amazing cocktails. Most importantly there was an wonderful feeling of privacy, where you could really talk, connect and feel totally comfortable. The cocktails were beyond Devine, you will be enchanted and transported to a better moment in time in the glass house. Enjoy!
