Reader Primetime tells me that Bossie’s Kitchen has opened at 901 North Milpas Street, the building famous for having a cow on the roof.

Cute name since the Latin word for cow is “bos” and farmers have called cows Bossy or Bossie for generations.

Good luck in a seemingly-jinxed location. Hope this cow will fly!

  2. Tom says:

Jinxed location is right! These restauranteurs really need to read Kitchen Confidential. Bourdain calls out the fact that location is EVERYTHING. He says to never, ever, ever lease a cursed location. Seems to be the case here in SB as well for as much as this is a cute building, its housed dozens of attempts over the years and not a single one has survived let alone thrived. Good luck Bossie! I hope you’re serving something cheap and sugary for the kids from SBHS. They seem to make up the majority of customers in that corner of town.

I hope it will fly, too!
We had a great dinner there last week. We tried the salmon and the pot roast. Wish we’d had room for dessert– the ones in the display case looked very tempting.
