In May of last year I wrote that vegan restaurant Fala Bar, which has a location at 7751 1/2 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, announced that it is coming to Santa Barbara in July or August of last year. I contacted them for an update and they replied: “We will be opening this winter, 2018-2019, but we aren’t disclosing the address just yet. We will make an announcement as soon as we’re able!” Reader Jennifer has now updated the story. She spotted a coming-soon sign for Fala Bar in the Santa Barbara Public Market at 38 West Victoria Street. Visit falabar.com

Just ate at this place on Friday- at the Westfield Topanga Mall. Lots of choices, great options, not cheap! The Falafel Burger was AWESOME, my Fala Salad plate was pretty good- I suspect the staffing will be better at Public Market. For any vegan, this is a welcome venue- I am not a vegan and I enjoyed the food- bright, colorful and tasty- the pita bread was DELICIOUS
Signage has been removed. Kind of ironic this is going in next to the soon to open most meat heavy vendor in market (Soulcal Smokehouse). Maybe they changed their mind before the ink dried 🙂
Signage has not been removed, still in the same place. March is the target opening date
Ahh my bad was in there and didn’t see it, I’m assuming they actually aren’t next to the soon to open BBQ place and are in the empty space across from empty bowls?
