Readers Jonathan and Richard let me know that Pacific Crepes at 705 Anacapa Street is closing at the end of the year after 22 years in business. I called the restaurant and was told that there is a new owner of the building who wants to renovate the space and try a different concept, possibly a marketplace.

The bookstore is forced to move too.

So sorry to lose Pacific Crepes. The food was always so fresh and lovely and the owners are the nicest people. I ate there last week and said my farewells.

Pacific Crepes!!! Noooooo!!!!! You are my favorite crepe place EVER!!! You had the absolute best salad and dressing I’ve ever had in my life. Please open again in another location! You are dearly missed! A marketplace is such a terrible, terrible alternative to your delicious food. This is a culinary tragedy to Santa Barbara. Please open in another location!!!

That’s a shame. I feel like maybe the Public Market would be a good venue for them – they offer something a bit different to what’s already there, and seems like they would fit in with the general feel of the place.
