Carlos Luna, owner of five Los Agaves restaurants (three of them local) and Santo Mezcal near the waterfront, has opened Vicenta’s at 6920 Marketplace Drive in Goleta, after fully remodeling the space once occupied by Pascucci Goleta, Holdren’s Grill, Holdren’s Steaks & Seafood, Zaffiro, and Chevy’s Fresh Mex Restaurant.
Vicenta’s is a full service Mexican restaurant with a full bar. The menu and presentation is different from the popular Los Agaves that opened just across the parking lot from Vicenta’s in October 2014.
The appetizer menu includes Elote Tõpico, Guacamole y Chips, Esquites, Queso Cilantro, Queso Vicenta’s, Cascaras de Papa Cantineras, Vicenta’s Fries, Queso Fundido, and Weekly Soup, ranging in price from $3.95-$13.50. Salads include Xochimilco, Vicenta’s Special, and Ensalada de Betabel for $9.50-$11.95. Main dishes include Filete a la Tampique, Puntas de Filete al Chipotle, Oreja de Elefante, Mole Tradicional, Puntas de Pollo al Chipotle, Pollo Asado, Pescado al Pastor, Atun, Pulpo a la Parrilla, Salmón al Guajillo, Marones al Tequila, Chile Relleno, Enchiladas Verdes, and Enmoladas, costing between $9.95 and $19.50. Also available are menus for Quesadillas, Sopes, Fresh and Raw, Tacos, Hamburgers, and Vicenta’s Specials. The bar is managed by award-winning mixologist Sean Sepulveda who continues to work with Luna’s Santa Mexcal restaurant at 119 State Street.
Special Events are happening at Vicenta’s. If you guess the winning team on Monday you can receive a gift certificate. Tuesday include board games such as Jungo, Domino, Backgammon, and Uno. Wednesday is the time for free-meal-birthdays when you bring a photo I.D. and are accompanied by 4 or more people. Saturday 1-3 p.m. children under 10 eat free when accompanied by an adult, 1 adult per child. Every day that you wear a Gauchos hat or jacket you receive a 10% discount. If you present a 4.0 GPA average report card the check is free.
