DUE LUNE OPENS ON THE WATERFRONT

File this story under “better late than never.” Due Lune Ristorante and Bar opened August 1st at 1 State Street (across from Stearns Wharf) in the former home of Eladio’s. The Italian restaurant builds on the success of its sister restaurant, Tres Lune in Montecito and is the latest establishment brought to you by the Montesano Group which also includes Lucky’s Steakhouse, Joe’s Café, and D’Angelo Bakery.     Where does the name “two moons” come from? For that matter, Tres Lune (threemoons) as well?

    There were three partners in the original restaurant, and two continued on to open this new branch.
