WORKER BEE CAFÉ IN GOLETA CLOSES

The Worker Bee Café in Carpinteria is open for business as usual. However, the new location which opened in September 2017 (replacing Sage & Onion Cafe) at 5599 Hollister Avenue in Old Town Goleta is gone.

Unfortunately, the owners underestimated the sophistication of Goleta diners…
The 1980’s menu and styrofoam To Go containers don’t cut it any more.
    Best of Luck-

Hmmm, the food I got there was in plastic to-go containers and the menu was contemporary.

I had previously eaten at the original Worker Bee in Carp and was happy with the food, portions and price. What I found at the Goleta location was a very limited menu, small portions and large prices. 12.95 for a tiny meal of everyday breakfast food. Not at all like the Carp location. The bulk of the people that live or work nearby are not wealthy. If the prices had been lower or the portions average sized, the quality of the food would have kept people coming back.

Sage and Onion was way better than Worker Bee. Shame.

Will miss sitting and staring out at the hills over the top of the parking lot. This was a unique restaurant with fresh fruit pastries with fresh fruit The food was yummy, books were fun. Sorry I didn’t frequent them more. Why would a place put that much into opening a new spot without researching signage and marketing? No one knew they were there!
