WILDWOOD MUSEUM CAFE CLOSES SATURDAY

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s Wildwood Museum Café which opened at 1130 State Street in March serves its last meal this Saturday. Here is a message from owner Justin West:

Hi John,

I hope you are well. I just wanted to stay ahead of my own rumor mill and let you know that I have decided to vacate the Museum Cafe already.

We were given a 90 day free rent period to test the waters over there and although we tried and wanted to make it work, it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to. Our last day at the Museum is this Saturday, May 19. Gotta come see us on Haley Street!

Best,

Justin West

I didn’t even know this second location was open.

No idea Wildwood was at this location. Obviously the word didn’t get out. Another casualty on State St.

Given all the turnover at that specific location over the years, I think we can safely say that the SB Museum of Art does not need to have its own cafe.

Oh shoot, I’m sorry to hear this did not work out. Sometimes hidden gems are too hidden. The Cafe seemed to be a good combination of Wildwood’s sandwiches and Julienne’s popular items like the chicken liver toast. I heard about it opening through Instagram and I think a newsletter.

Another hidden gem is the cafe at Sansum Clinic on Foothill Road.
