LA ARCADA BISTRO TO BECOME A PIZZA PLACE

I spoke with La Arcada Bistro at 1112 State Street and was told that the business was sold and will close when escrow does in late March. Reader Gerry (and a few others) tell me that this will be a second location for Pizza Mizza but I have been unable to confirm this.

    Another pizza place downtown. How…necessary.

I heart you, Rex Of SB!

Seriously, he’s right. But with the similar-ish menus of Andersen’s, Jeannine’s, Petit Valentin, and State & Fig (my favorite!) so close by, I’ve only ever seen this place as empty of customers. Too much competition. A quick slice o’ pie on the go might actually be a better fit for the block?

We will really miss Trini who always welcomed us with a pleasant smile. We will also miss their fantastic Caesar salad with grilled chicken and incredible roast beef as jus sandwiches. We wish Trini & Willie a well deserved rest from their very busy restaurant life. We wish Pizza Mizza good luck with the La Arcadia location… hang on to that Guinness license to keep the draught beer flowing!

When I lived in Claremont eons ago, a very popular restaurant served homemade soups and homemade pies. It was the most popular place to get a quick bite of really good food.

I lived near the panhandle in San Francisco ages ago. A super successful restaurant served sandwiches wrapped in paper. It took a few minutes but they were really big.
