Reader BBH (an acronym for a nickname that is too vulgar to print here) was recently in the Santa Barbara Public Market at 38 West Victoria Street and saw that the empty space next to Rori’s Ice Cream is boarded up with a sign announcing that another Ca’ Dario Pizza location will be opening there soon.

I’m no Ca’Dario pizza fan, but happy for any of those empty Public Market spaces to be filled–no fun eating in there when it’s a ghost town.

I think Public Market is starting to turn the corner. The beer garden is usually pretty busy. The Mexican place is fantastic, the noodle place is also great. Ca Dario’s is a nice addition. I think the style/taste of the pizza is a nice fit. A little surprised there will be two Ca Dario’s within a block of each other.

The PM is taking the time to find great eateries that drive foot traffic. As a family, we will go and everyone will go grab their favorite and then we find an empty table. The kids will trade a bite of their dish for the bite of a sibling who went somewhere else.

There are a couple shops that I am surprised stay open but they appear to be doing it. They have a couple more places to fill with great resturants and it will be a great destination place. I have no problem telling tourist downtown to go to PM these days. The foot traffic is moderate/heavy and the dishes are great.

Big Eye is great also. The Miso salmon bowl is killer.

What does this mean for the Ca Dario location on Storke that was supposed to open. Can they really sustain two new openings?

it’s cause it’s a “public market” in name only. it’s just a resteraunt mall!

The build out or CaDario Goleta looks almost done. This announcement for a pizzeria in the Public Market is old news. There was some sort of news release a few months ago

The mexican food place in there, Corazon, is fantastic! I hope they never go out of business!
